The Barn Owl

Has a heart shaped face that can change shape, long and narrow wings and long legs. The honey coloured upperparts are flecked with darker marks with grey on the back. Its buoyant flight is typically slow and hovers when hunting. The barn owl is a normally a nocturnal hunter. Hunts mainly on small mammals: such as mice and voles. Has a piercing shriek call is a loud ‘snore’ they are mainly resident to one area seldom moving far.
